Abstract

Sera of 111 mother/cord pairs were tested for IgG and IgM antibodies to Rickettsia tsutsugamushi. Thirty-two (29%) of the mothers had positive IgG titers that indicated previous infections. Evidence of fetal infection was not found, since IgM antibodies were not detected in corresponding cord sera. © 1981, National Institute of Infectious Diseases, Japanese Journal of Infectious Diseases Editorial Committee.
