Abstract

The multiplication of internships as part of their curriculum for the young people graduating from higher education is generally seen as a panacea for coping with the difficulties of integrating into the world of work. This article demonstrates the existence of a great variety of organisation for these internships as well as a significant gap between their desired results and the effects being actually obtained. It explains the need for an evaluation of this system and it underlies the importance of the conditions of their organisation and following up to gain quality. Finally it invites to a reasoned debate on what could be the achievable goals for these placements while warning on the dangers of such a present inflation.
