Abstract

The aim of the present work is to demonstrate and compare the environmental effects of long-distance heating and hot water supplying systems, based upon the already existing geothermal energy in Hungary and comparing it with the non-renewable energy carrier (natural gas). We rely on the evaluations of the SimaPro 7.1 Life Cycle Assessment program. © Periodica Polytechnica 2010.
