Abstract

Recent accumulating evidence indicates the biological actions of Autotaxin-Lysophosphatidic acid (ATX-LPA) signaling axis in malignant tumors. However, the role of Autotaxin-Lysophosphatidic acid signaling axis in breast cancer has not been reported. The present study aims to examine the alterations of serum autotaxin in breast cancer and discuss whether serum autotaxin could be useful as a novel parameter of breast cancer. Serum autotaxin antigen was measured in 112 patients with breast cancer and 50 healthy volunteers by ELISA. The association of serum autotaxin antigen levels with clinicopathological parameters and outcomes of breast cancer was analyzed.
