For each simply connected semisimple algebraic groupGdefined and split over the prime field Fp, we establish a uniform bound onnabove which all of the first cohomology groups with values in the simple modules for the finite groupG(n) are determined by those for the algebraic groupG(F̃p). © 1997 Academic Press.
