Abstract

The study comprises three agarophytic (Gracilaria aff. verrucosa, Gracilaria sp., Pterocladia capillacea) and three carrageenophytic algae (Meristiella echinocarpa, Hypnea cornuta, H. musciformis), subjected to salinities from 5-60‰. All species were more tolerant to salinities >30‰ than below this value, with maximum growth occurring between 25-40‰. -from Authors
