Abstract

Disasters happen. Whether you are in a major city or a small town, any sudden influx of patient flow either fromaneventoramajor accident canbring the department (and the hospital) to a screeching halt. This can be anything from a multivehicle car accident, a building collapse, a mass shooting or stabbing incident, to things such as bioterrorism and chemical warfare.
