Abstract

Application of a shortened, revised version of Wilson & Patterson's catchphrase method of testing conservative versus liberal values produces a 12-item scale with good internal reliability and a three-factor structure matching that of longer tests. The short scale correlates significantly with other measures of political attitudes and behaviour.
