Abstract

Integrating environmental protection requirements into land law is a matter that needs serious consideration in Vietnam for two reasons: on one hand, the current regulations of environmental protection in land law are still vague and meagre; on the other hand, unsustainable land management and use are causing serious environmental problems, manifested by contaminated soil and an increase in degraded land and desertification. Environmental protection considerations in land-use planning are also limited, resulting protection through land use. Therefore, integrating environmental protection requirements into land law is an idea that is attracting muchattention in Vietnam. Given the situation, this paper clarifies the issues of environmental protection in land law and proposes content for the environmental protection requirements that need to be integrated into Vietnam’s land law.
