Abstract

In the present study, the experimental and numer-ical stress analysis of Fiber Metal Laminates (FML) with different types of cutouts was investigated. FMLs consist of combination of metal sheets, especially aluminium ones, with fiber reinforced epoxy layers. Mechanical properties of FML were investigated by standard tensile tests. Strain gauges were used to measure the strain values near the cutout and then stresses were estimated according to the mechanical properties which obtained in the experiments. Moreover, finite element analysis was applied as the sec-ond method. Finally, experimental and finite element re-sults were compared.
