Abstract

This paper analyses several tools and methods for the comprehensive and effi-cient development of power electronics control systems. Hardware-in-the-loop technology enhances the possibility for compromising two opposing demands: the requirement for exhaustive testing process and the requirement for as short time to market as possible. The procedure is presented through the development and testing of a complex control algorithm connecting a d permanent magnet syn-chronous generator to the electrical grid. The development steps are explained and analysed in detail. Finally, several scenarios based on the presented tools and methods are proposed.
