Abstract

This paper deals with ultrasonic flowmeters based on the sing-around method and Doppler effect. The principles of the flow measurement are shown and essential points concerned with the design of the transducers and their arrangement on the pipe walls are discussed. Some applications for pipe and open channel flow measurement are described and explained briefly. © 1981 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
