Abstract
Using two systems which depend on photon absorption techniques for measuring bone mineral, it has been demonstrated that in a group of patients with spinal cord injury there is loss of trabecular bone with preservation of cortical bone. The reason for this is as yet unexplained but may in part be related to the primary injury being that of the central nervous system. © 1973 Nature Publishing Group.
