Abstract

A novel design for a fiber-optic four-detector polarimeter (FO-FDP) is presented. It consists of four externally induced incore fiber gratings together with four photodetectors. The device is compact, light-weight, avoids the otherwise needed specially coated reflectors or beam-splitters, and lends itself much more conveniently to various applications such as distributed fiberoptic sensing. © 1995.
