Abstract

Education is a process of forming the human personality, which supports the growth and development of all the potential and resources possessed by a person. The role of education is very important to produce quality human resources. Without education, humans will be retarded and difficult to develop. Based on the background, the problems that need to be formulated are as follows: 1. How is the influence of Pop Up Book learning media in students' understanding of multicultural education to foster tolerance values in fifth grade students at SD Negeri Sidokepung 2? 2. Do social studies activities have a relationship with students' understanding of multicultural education in fostering the value of tolerance in fifth grade students in using Pop Up Book learning media at SD Negeri Sidokepung 2?. This type of research uses a quantitative approach because this research is a descriptive study. It is said to be quantitative descriptive because this study aims to describe the results of data management in the form of numbers. And how does the Pop Up Book media influence students' understanding of multicultural education to foster the value of tolerance. Based on the results of observations and research in the field about the effect of pop up book media on understanding tolerance material in class V at SDN Sidokepung 2, the researchers concluded that pop up book media had a significant influence on understanding tolerance material. This can be seen from the regression analysis test obtained that t count (2.7640) > t table (2.035). This means that the higher the use of pop-up book media for fifth grade students, the higher the students' understanding of tolerance for multicultural education materials will be.
