Abstract

The authors report a case of lichen planus pemphigoides (LPP) in which a complete immunopathological study was carried out including indirect immuno-fluorescence on salt-split skin, indirect immuno-electronmicroscopy and immunoblotting detection of the skin antigens. The LPP described here exhibited the same characteristics as those observed in bullous pemphigoid, with the presence of autoantibodies to the 230 and 180 kDa BP antigens. We conclude that LPP corresponds to the association of two diseases, lichen planus and bullous pemphigoid.
