El uso de recursos tecnológicos en lingüística forense

Abstract

This chapter shows some of the available computer tools that can help quicken the work of forensic linguists in the analysis of written samples for fo-rensic purposes such as sociolin-guistic profiling, authorship attrib-ution, text disambiguation or pla-giarism detection. It also reflects on the role of the linguistics expert and the ethical dimension of this profession. In conclusion, it is pro-posed that the knowledge and ex-perience of the linguistics expert are still key and indispensable to use the latest technological tools efficiently and obtain rigorous re-sults grounded on validated scien-tific theory.
