Abstract

Tricalcium phosphate and alumina powder were mixed in order to elaborate biphasic ceramics composites. This study deals to produce bioceramics composites sintered at various temperatures for differents times. The characterization of samples, before and after the sintering process was investigated, using X-Ray diffraction, scanning electronic microscopy, 31P and 27Al nuclear magnetic resonance and differential thermal analysis. Mechanical properties of biphasic composites were studied using Brazilian test. The tricalcium phosphate - 75 wt% alumina composites mechanical resistance increased with sintered temperature. The mechanical resistance reach it's optimum value (8.6 MPa) at 1550°C for two hours. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
