Abstract

The treatment of acute and chronic dance injuries requires the understanding of the physical requirements of dance, and an appreciation of the art. Effective treatment consists of a conservative approach that encourages active participation of the injured dancer. Evaluation is based on a biomechanical assessment of the dancer. Treatment and rehabilitation is geared toward correcting these identified deficits as well as the local area of complaint. The challenge found in treating this group of athletes is rewarding.
