Abstract

The peak flow of 1,052 healthy men and women in Sheffield was measured with the Wright peak flow meter. The findings for age and sex are recorded. The peak flow in 121 bronchitics and 51 cardiacs were also measured ; it was found to be a good method of assessing the degree of disability in severe bronchitis and of distinguishing respiratory from cardiac dyspnoea. © 1962, British Medical Journal Publishing Group.
