Abstract
We report in this paper the millimeter- and submillimeter-wave spectrum of vibrationally excited trisulfane in the cis-conformation, cis-H2S3. The observed rotational spectrum is assigned to levels of the energetically lowest vibrational mode, the SSS bending mode, with energy levels separated by 240 cm-1. The recorded spectra in the v = 1 and 2 states show great similarity to the ground state spectra and are dominated by a series of regularly spaced conspicuous Q branches. No splitting due to internal motion has been observed. © 1989.
