Hemodynamics and histamine release during induction with sufentanil or fentanyl

Abstract

Sufentanil produces rapid loss of consciousness, moderate decreases in systemic pressure and peripheral resistance, and no histamine release. In these respects it is clinically indistinguishable from fentanyl.
