Abstract
This study examines how Artificial Intelligence enhances modern cybersecurity through AI-driven intrusion detection systems (IDS), behavioural analytics, and automated threat responses. Deep learning and hybrid models significantly improve detection accuracy, while User Behaviour Analytics strengthens insider threat identification in dynamic cloud environments. Reinforcement learning-based automation reduces attacker dwell time and enables rapid containment of multi-stage attacks. Despite these benefits, challenges such as dataset bias, model explainability, and adversarial vulnerabilities persist. The study proposes an integrated AI-driven cyber defence framework that combines detection, behavioural modelling, and automated response, concluding that AI is essential but must operate within strong governance and human oversight.
