Abstract

A scenario for the asymptotic behavior of inertial modes at small velocities is presented. The case of a spherical shell is used as a container. It is shown that inertial oscillations of a fluid inside a container offer a paradigm which may guide the intuition for problems in other fields of physics which are also ill-posed Cauchy problems.
