Abstract
This paper addresses the importance of digital platforms as a tool and their impact on the strengthening of English language vocabulary in elementary education. The general objective is to analyze the significance of using digital platforms, particularly the Wordwall platform, as a tool for enhancing the vocabulary of the English language in elementary education. A quantitative approach was implemented based on documentary analysis and field research, applying surveys and pre- and post-tests to evaluate the students’ vocabulary levels. A random sample of 23 third year elementary school students from a private educational institution in the Canton of Chone was selected, and a sample of 32 teachers from different specialties was chosen for the survey, and all participated voluntarily. This study measures how these tools can improve vocabulary acquisition among young learners. The results showed a significant improvement in the student’s vocabulary after using Wordwall, with measurable increases in the post-tests compared to the pre-tests. The surveys also collected opinions from students and teachers about their experiences with digital platforms for vocabulary learning. However, this study provides valuable information about digital platforms in language education, by identifying their benefits and challenges. Therefore, emphasis is placed on guiding educators and educational policymakers in integrating platforms such as Wordwall into curricula to improve learning outcomes in primary education.
