Abstract

The effect of a uniform sliding of the modulation wave on the nuclear resonance lineshape of incommensurate systems has been evaluated in the plane-wave and multisoliton lattice limits. The lineshape is also obtained for a gaussian distribution of sliding velocities. The effects of the thermally induced floating of a pinned modulation wave on the magnetic resonance lineshape are also treated.
