Abstract
Many industries including agriculture, mining, power generation, construction and manufacturing industry have an interest in the dust problem. Depending on the type and concentration of dust it can lead to either nuisance or health effects or both. This paper examines the problem of assessing the effects of dust from specific projects and reviews factors that should be considered when using regulatory-type dispersion models to assess the impact of dust emissions. The focus of the paper is on mining and quarrying, but the principles discussed can easily be extended beyond this area. -from Author
