Abstract

Bismaleimides containing ether bonds in the backbone were synthesized by a simple synthetic route based on the reaction of maleic anhydride with various diamines [4,7-dioxa1,10-decanediamine; 4,9-dioxa-1,12-dodecanediamine; 4,4′-bis(4-aminophenoxy)diphenyl; 2,7-bis(4-aminophenoxy)naphthalene and 2,5-bis[4-(4-aminophenoxy)phenyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazole]. Monomers were characterized by infrared and proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The thermal properties of the bismaleimides were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry and dynamic thermogravimetric analysis.
