Adaptation and use of foreign words in Diccionario de la lengua española

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyse the adaptation of foreign words in the twenty-third edition of the Diccionario de la lengua española published by the Real Academia Española. We will study the inclusion and adaptation of foreign words in the Diccionario panhispánico de dudas and the inclusion or exclusion of these words in the last edition of the Diccionario. The insertion of these adaptations suggests an effective integration of them in the Spanish language. To test this assumption we will check that these words appear in the CORPES, a current corpus of the Spanish language.
