¿QUÉ ES LA VIDA? ¿LA CIENCIA, SE ATREVE A DEFINIRLA?

Abstract

This paper presents a review about the studies of live organisms throughout history and the different perspectives used to define and characterize them. It is shown that many of the dogmas of XIX and XX centuries are still applied even though the new discoveries. This review emphasizes the importance of discussion among the different disciplines to attain new views about this matter, giving the possibility to a more free research on live organisms and its interrelationships, hoping to increase the creativity that will permit a more sustainable development and understanding of our planet.Esta publicación presenta una revisión sobre el desarrollo del conocimiento sobre los organismos vivos a través de la historia y las diferentes perspectivas con que estos se han analizado y definido. Se demuestra como la mayoría de los dogmas del siglo XIX y XX se mantienen a pesar de los nuevos descubrimientos. Esta revisión permite demostrar la importancia de reunir las diferentes disciplinas para lograr una apertura en la definición de los organismos vivos y sus interrelaciones, para lograr cambiar los dogmas existentes. Esto sin duda alguna, dará a la investigación en este tema una libertad diferente para entender la naturaleza misma y abrir la posibilidad a la verdadera creatividad y con ella a nuevos descubrimientos que permitan un desarrollo más acorde en el planeta en que vivimos.
