Abstract

This article presents the results of the project “Analysis of landscape configuration and loss of ecosystem services for flood regulation” developed by the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services investigation group, of the Botanical Garden of Bogotá José Celes-tino Mutis (JBB) Scientific Division, in 2019. Evidence how, as the city grows, it loses the spaces that provide ecosystem services of water regulation and its relationship with flood events in two areas of interest, Torca and Tintal micro basins. The first microbasin, loca-ted north of the city, has maintained rural activities over de decades, while the second has had an accelerated urban expansion process, since the 1980s. In both microbasins there is a close relationship with the loss of regulatory areas and the temporal space patterns of flood events.
