Tubo-ovarian abscess

Abstract

An infection that reaches this stage is by definition severe and dangerous. Sometimes unsuspected, tuboovarian abscess causes more than 80% of medical therapy failures in PID and may progress rapidly to sepsis and death with or without rupture.
