Abstract

Thermal decomposition of tetraamminecopper(II) nitrate and bis(ethylenediamine)copper(II) nitrate has been studied using TG, DTG, and DTA. The kinetic parameters for the thermal deamination of the former were evaluated. The thermal decomposition of bis(ethylenediamine)copper(II) nitrate involves the concurrent deamination and the oxidation of the liberated amine by the decomposition products of Cu(NO3)2.
