Abstract
2 studies with an ancient memory system demonstrated that capacity in serial learning tasks and paired-associate tasks is raised by at least an order of magnitude. It is also shown that serial position effects and proactive inhibition effects are notably absent. Performance of 5 normal Ss using the memory system is compared with a reported case of exceptional memory.
