Abstract

Bands have been assigned to stretching frequencies of bonds between platinum and chlorine, nitrogen and oxygen which are observed in the far infrared region. The positions of these bands have been related to the structures of several complexes. Improved procedures are given for the preparation of complexes of the type K[PtCl 3 L] and trans- PtCl 2 L(am), where L is an unsaturated organic ligand and am is an aromatic amine.
