Abstract
This article presents a research about the social representations of childhood of male and female teachers who attend the university. The document deals with diverse aspects resulting from the data analysis: 1) the cultural, philosophical and pedagogical assumptions expressed by the polled teachers; 2) a rapprochement to the representational cores of naturalization and idealization of the childhood, which can be pointed thanks to the dialogue work between theory and data construction; and 3) the different questions generated by the advances that are produced by the research.
