Abstract
Recently, security culture has become a focus of research in different academic disciplines. This article evaluates the role of culture in the history of security studies, describes recent attempts to reshape research questions in historiography and jurispru- dence and outlines a cultural studies perspective on security in order to facilitate inter-disciplinary security research.
