Abstract
South Vietnam, the most augmented, defended, and bled-over client state in the history of American foreign relations, ceased to exist on April 30, 1975. But the story of Saigon's fall, once well known, is being forgotten. With the world as it is, it seemed useful to contemplate the fates of nations that fail despite foreign aid, good intentions, countless deaths, and human will.
