Abstract

Statistics is one of the branches of mathematics that is used in almost all professions, in order to estimate more efficient and optimal processes and services, product improvements, processes, or quality of care. Its wide variety of uses makes it a tool of great demand in the knowledge of professionals, in addition to the application of quantitative research, it is a fundamental element for data management. In this work, a detailed bibliographic review is presented, which includes the analysis of statistics in different professional areas and its relevance in research processes. The most outstanding results show that the use of statistics offers better insights into research processes and a better understanding of scientific proposals.
