Abstract

The article discusses the role of the media in the transition process in Mongolia. It says that the country's media situation in 1990s has been devolved and many provinces have no local newspapers or local electronic media. It tells that in 2000, a total of 111 newspapers, 24 magazines, 6 television (TV) and radio stations have been registered by Ministry of Justice and Interior. Moreover, the Mongolian Media landscape is blooming with impressive number of media outlets for 2.4 million people.
