How to arrange an article and scientific journal to avoid indexing errors in international scientometric databases

Abstract

A correct indexing of a scientific journal in international scientometric databases, to a large extent, is determined by whether its contents are arranged according to international publishing standards. A sufficient quality of the journal design and article layout, a correct arrangement of all article elements, the completeness of English-language metadata, as well as other publishing aspects are taken into account by the editorial policy and reflect a journal preparedness for the international level. These aspects also affect the process of expert evaluation of a journal applying for inclusion in international scientometric databases. A high level of these characteristics is important for those journals that are already being covered, with the aim of maintaining their status and not losing data as a result of indexing errors. The purpose of this article is to explain the importance of arranging journal contents in such a way to ensure its adequate indexing and better visualization. Recommendations are provided concerning the correct arrangement of all necessary journal elements.
