This is the second module in a teach yourself course dealing with mixing effects in chemical reactors as part of a series on kinetics. Its objectives are the ability to derive expressions for instantaneous and overall selectivities for a given homogeneous complex reaction; to show the effect of reaction parameters on selectivity expressions for complex homogeneous reactions in different type reactors; to determine the maximum values of selectivity for given reaction conditions for any homogeneous, complex reaction in different type reactors; to compare selectivity values at equivalent conditions for the same reaction in different type reactors. Prerequisite skills are also indicated. (R.A.H.)
