Abstract

Three new dammarane saponins, jujubasaponins IV—VI (1—3), in addition to zizyphus saponins I—III (4—6) and jujuboside B (7) have been isolated from the fresh leaves of Zizyphus jujuba mill. (Rhamnaceae). Their structures were established on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. On the bioassay of the sense of taste, all of them showed antisweet activities. © 1992, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan. All rights reserved.
