The technology associated with existing open end spinning systems is to feed individual fibres into a revolving rotor in which they collect. They are then drawn off while being twisted into yarn. Suessen have conceived an alternative system whereby fibres are collected on the outer face of a collecting drum. The patented open end fibre veil spinning apparatus could open the way to appreciably higher yarn delivery speeds.
