Abstract

The case of a 31-year-old black male is presented with recurrent pleural effusions secondary to active SLE. Treatment with corticosteroids, azathioprine, plaquenil, and tetracycline pleural sclerosis was unsuccessful. Disease control was finally achieved by pleural talc poudrage.
