It provides an overview of Pan-Asianism as a political and intellectual movement that aimed at fostering unity and cooperation among Asian countries while challenging Western dominance. The entry also discusses the factors driving Pan-Asianism’s momentum, including the decline of traditional Asian powers, the rise of Western imperialism, and the relevance of nationalism and anti-colonialism. It analyzes the transnational nature of Pan-Asianism, highlighting the contributions of key figures in promoting Asian solidarity and independence.
