Abstract
The objective of this study was to analyze fisheries exports from Peru and Chile during the period 2010 to 2018. The type of research was applied, non-experimental design and longitudinal cutting. The database provided by National Superintendence of TributaryAdministration and Integrated Foreign Trade Information System of Peru; and Fisheries Development Institute and Undersecretary for Fisheries and Aquaculture of Chile was used. The MS Excel 2010 software was used for data processing and analysis. The average annual FOB value of fisheries exports from Peru and Chile during the period 2010 to 2018 was US$ 2,837.5 and $5,337.5 million respectively. It is concluded that the average annual FOB value of Chile’s exports was twice that of Peru, the first having an average growth rate of 10%; whereas, the second at 5 percent. In addition, the FOB value of exports in Chile’s aquaculture sector was 17.5 times more than the FOB value of exports from Peru’s aquaculture sector. The main destination country for Peru’s fisheries exports was China; whereas, in Chile it was the United States of America.
