Abstract
The Fecal Waste Treatment Plant (IPLT) is an installation for managing fecal waste. One of the parameters of water quality that is monitored and managed is dissolved oxygen which is one of the important chemical parameters in supporting the life of aquatic biota. This study aims to determine the dynamics of dissolved oxygen during the fecal waste phytoremediation process using a combination of water spinach (Ipomoea aquatica) and pond tongue java fern (Microsorum pteropus). The research was conducted from November 2022 to March 2023, at the Supit Urang IPLT, Malang City. The procedures in this study include the preparation stage, acclimatization stage, experimental stage, data collection stage and data analysis. Presentation of research results descriptively using graphics. The results of the study showed that there were observed dynamics of dissolved oxygen levels, but the dissolved oxygen values indicated that the phytoremediation process by the combination of the two plants succeeded in reducing fecal pollutants, by increasing dissolved oxygen levels in facultative pond 3 at the end of the study on day 28.Keywords: Dissolved oxygen, phytoremediation, Ipomoea aquatica, Microsorum pteropus
