Abstract

A review of social epidemiology, which is an attempt to study the role of socio-cultural and environmental factors in the etiology of disease: its research methods and current studies. Describes the study of, among other themes, psycho-cultural change and mental health, socio-psychological factors and cancer, and the socio-biological environment and sickle cell anaemia, with a special emphasis on African sources.-from Author
