Abstract

In this paper the governing differential equations for coupled bending and torsional vibrations of a uniform beam possessing no cross sectional symmetry have been solved in an exact sense. A compact program is also presented using the modern computer algebra system Mathematica. Numerical results are given for a representative beam under a variety of boundary conditions.
